Call for International Intern/Volunteer (Fundraising)
Dalit Welfare Organization (DWO) established in 1994, is largest Dalit human rights Organization in Nepal. It is member based organization having head office at Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. It has 53 district branches out of 75 districts in Nepal. DWO is working to eliminate caste based discrimination and untouchability in Nepal through 2 principle approach: through media advocacy and through development program. Position:International Intern/Volunteer (Fundraising)

Reporting to: Executive Director

Objective: To assistance organization in identifying donor resources raising funds and writing proposals & concept note, Expression of Interest (EOI) for short & long-term organizational sustainability

Job Description
  • Compile and maintain a database of international, national & local funding agencies or organization (International foundation, bilateral, multilateral agencies, INGOs and private corporation offering donations) and Update it regularly
  • Regularly monitor donor websites and identify & inform funding opportunity matching the work of organization
  • Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for short & long-term sustainability of organization
  • Assist the director in developing fundraising plan to generate income from various sources
  • Undertake online research and assist in building contact with potential individual or organization donors and raise funds for the activities of the organization
  • Assist in improving and developing communication materials such as brochure, websites, annual report, posters, DVD etc.
  • Provide assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization
  • Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resources mobilization
  • Develop concept notes, project ideas & project proposal in coordination and collaboration with director of the organization
  • Drafting all fundraising related correspondence
  • Perform other activities as per the need of organization


Required Qualification
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in development, social science, peace & conflict, communication or other relevant field
  • At least 3-5 months of fundraising experience
  • Strong organizational & time management skills with an ability to attend to details.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and manage her/his own work to work under tight deadlines and on several matters simultaneously
  • High motivation of social justice
  • Ability to find creative solution to problems & negotiate with & influence others
  • Excellent written & spoken English language
  • Good networking and communication skills
  • Good command over MS Office and internet
  • Good team building
  • Analytical skills
  • Willingness to undertake field visit
Duration: 4-6 Months
